When a new Dial up Networking connection is made, you will need to change some of the settings. Also use this to verify that your settings are correct.
Configure
- Go to My Computer, Dial up Networking.
- Right click on WorldTel connection icon and go
to Properties.

- General Tab:
- Make sure that the phone number is entered correctly: 13112213.
- Verify that your modem is listed under Connect Using.
- Uncheck Use area code and dialing properties (may be Use country code and area code in Windows 95).
- Server Tab:

- The Type of Dial up Server must be PPP: …
- Advanced Options:
- Uncheck Log on to network.
- The only thing that should be checked is Enable Software Compression.
- Allowed Network Protocols:
- Uncheck NetBEUI.
- Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
- The only thing that should be checked is TCP/IP.
- TCP/IP Settings:

- Server assigned IP Address needs to be enabled.
- Server assigned name server addresses needs to be enabled.
- Use IP header compression needs to be checked.
- Use default gateway on remote network needs to be checked.
- Click OK.
- Click OK again to bring you back to the Dial up Networking folder.
- You have now successfully created an Internet account.
- To create a shortcut on your desktop, right click on WorldTel connection icon, select Create Shortcut.
- You will get the message Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Would you like a shortcut to be placed on your desktop instead? Choose Yes.
- You are now ready to connect to the Internet.
